This blog is about surmounting fibromyalgia and mental illness. Inevitably, I had to get around to talking about forgiveness.

I wasn’t surprised that Google records 5 million searches a month for the phrase ‘how to let go.’

People are hurting and they want to heal and move on, but can’t seem to.

You might be asking what on earth this has to do with overcoming fibromyalgia and mental health problems?

Alot actually.

It is no secret that stress and emotional baggage can manifest themselves into physical symptoms. They can impinge on our health, exacerbating symptoms of conditions we are already dealing with. Chronic stress can also lead to a host of illnesses or habits that might affect our health in the long run.

  1. I believe that any chronic illness comes with stress. No way around it because we usually go through the many stages of grief before reaching acceptance. Stress alone, can bring on anxiety, depression, or any number of other mental heath issues. Mental health issues only add to the pain we’re already experiencing, and can bring with it more pain and cause the original diagnoses to become more than one. Hope you’re having a great day, my friend! 🙂

    1. Hey Tammy! I’ve been wondering how you’ve been! I’ve been so busy- I moved house today and did alot of lifting that I shouldn’t have- now everything hurts!
You’ve made a super valid point- living with chronic health problems is bound to be laden with stresses of all kinds. It’s really difficult, no wonder so many chronically ill people also live with mental health problems like depression!

I’ll be unpacking for a few days but I hope to be back on the scene more frequently soon.

Hope you’re well!:) chat soon x

      1. Oh, no! You know you shouldn’t be lifting like that, but I know you had to, so what do you do. You may not be moving anything for a few days or God only knows how long. I hope you aren’t in too much pain and if you are I hope you have something that helps with the pain. Get yourself moved all the way in and unpacked. First things first. I think that’s a little, just a little, though, more important than blogging. LOL 🙂 Peace out! xx 🙂

      2. I know Tammy! I was a bit disappointed that none of my ‘friends’ turned up to help except one very kind friend who had a busy day but spared a couple hours to help. Feeling much better today. Just when I was getting up from my desk at work, got a sharp pain in the back (completely forgot that I was at hospital just a few weeks ago for pains in my neck and back!)
I’m not sure I’ll be staying here in the long term as it’s very expensive so a bit reluctant to fully unpack, but have done much of it. Blogging gives me peace! (love your sign out lol) hope you’re having a great start to your week and your pain levels are under control xxx

      3. I’m so sorry to hear that. It’s times like these when we find out who our true friends are. I sure hope you don’t have to pay the price for too long. I must get off here, take my bedtime meds and pray for sleep.
        Peace out,
        Tammy xx 🙂

      4. Hi Alisha, I wish I could say, I did, but that’s not the case. All hell has broken loose around here and I don’t know what to do. I have no help, here. Gotta figure things out on my own. Things I never thought I would ever have to be dealing with. Unfortunately, I’m still alive and breathing, but this crap is going to be the death of me………….I’m so lost……….no help……………I’m trying to figure it out, but I don’t know how……………….Hope you’re hanging in there, girl. Talk to you soon, I hope. Take care. xx 😦

      5. I’m so sorry to hear this Tammy. Please let me know I there is anything at all that I can do to help. It’s not a good feeling when we find ourselves all on our own having to figure things out, but people like us are strong because of all we must endure. I know you will overcome. Feel free to pm me via theinvisiblef@hotmail.co.uk and let me know if there’s anything I can do to help. Hugs and love xxx
